How much: $35

If you didn't get a chance to visit the beach this summer, Saturday night's event benefitting The Guest House will help fill the void.

The annual fundraiser, which takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday at The Elks Club in Gainesville, is dubbed Calabash Party and has a beach party theme influenced by the food and culture of the Calabash, N.C., area.

"Calabash is a lightly breaded seafood from the Carolina region," said Jocelyn Pryor, executive director of The Guest House. "We're going to have shag lessons, seafood is part of the hors d' oeuvres."

The Guest House is a nonprofit that offers daytime care for the elderly and support for family members.

Pryor said this is the program's major fundraiser for the year. "We do the flamingo flocking in the spring, but this is our major fundraiser," she said.

"It's going to be a very fun evening."
