John and Reneé Sewell of Braselton announce the engagement of their daughter Kalen Felicia Sewell to Dusty Matthew Porter, son of Ricky and Tina Porter of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Betty Williams of Gainesville, the late Dudley Williams and Jesse and Marilyn Sewell of Oakwood.

She is a 2005 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Gainesville State College in Oakwood.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Roy and Johnnie Gowder of Lula, Lavern Porter of Chestnut Mountain and the late Hoyt Porter.

He is a 2005 graduate of Chestatee High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2009 from Gainesville State College with an associate degree in secondary education. He is employed as a recreation director with the Georgia Mountains YMCA in Gainesville and is a real estate agent.

The couple plan to wed Sept. 18, 2010, at The Densmore Farm in Cleveland.
