Allyson Leigh Martin and Michael Edwin George were united in marriage at 5 p.m. April 1, 2017, at First United Methodist Lakeside Sanctuary in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Cathy and Darryll Martin of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Raymond George of Cleveland and the late Sharon George.
The groom’s father Judge Raymond George performed the ceremony. Pianist Don Griffin and guitarist Jeremiah Reed presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s sister Cara Martin of Nashville, Tenn., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Dana Farr of Gainesville, Erin Chumbler of Gainesville, Jennifer Howard of Gainesville, Jill McCutcheon of Maysville, Karen Craft of Gainesville and Ellen Neece of Gainesville. The bride’s cousin Addi Bales of Gainesville and the bride’s friends Kit Chumbler of Gainesville and Amelia Farr of Gainesville were the flower girls.
The groom’s brother Andrew George of Atlanta was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends Danny Mistarz of Buford, Blake Masters of Gainesville, Blake Hinton of Gainesville, Greg Arp of Ellijay, Chris DeWitt of Athens and Norman Scholz of Athens. The bride’s friend Lawson Chumbler of Gainesville was the ring bearer.
Anna Jacobs was the wedding coordinator.
The bride wore a pearl bracelet belonging to her grandmother and a diamond pendant worn by the groom’s late mother.
The groom’s father gave a rehearsal dinner at Quillian’s Grill in Clermont on the eve of the wedding.
The bride and groom hosted a reception at Atlanta Botanical Garden in Gainesville following the ceremony.
Following a honeymoon to St. Thomas and Tortola in the Eastern Caribbean, the couple reside in Gainesville.
