Another Hall County school system student has been selected to attend the Governor’s Honors Program this summer.

Jordan Etienne of Johnson High School will study jazz piano in the program, which is set to take place June 8-July 19 at Valdosta State University in South Georgia.

In all, 10 Hall students have been selected for the program, which aims to provide high-achieving and artistically gifted high school students challenging and enriching educational opportunities not usually available during the regular school year.

Students must be rising juniors or seniors to be accepted in the program, which is accepting 690 finalists this year.

Hall County schools had 37 students apply for finalist positions.
