A future electrical engineering major and an Ivy League hopeful were named Wednesday as the area’s top STAR students. Gainesville Kiwanis recognized David Lawson of Chestatee High School and Cuong Nguyen of Riverside Military Academy as Student Teacher Achievement Recognition program winners. Lawson represents the Hall County school system, which includes, for STAR purposes, Maranatha Christian Academy in Oakwood.
