In celebration of Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge’s seventh decade of operation, the programming department will offer "Amicalola Through the Ages" Saturday and Sunday. The event is a series of presentations highlighting each decade of the park’s existence.

Saturday’s programs include a history hike, a birds of prey program and pet rock craft. Two separate ranger-led animal discussions that evening round out the day’s events.

Sunday’s events include two hikes, turtle races and a program titled "Going Green," which will raise awareness of our planet’s condition and what we can do to be responsible stewards of our natural resources.

All programs are free, but parking passes are $3. For more information, call the programming department at 706-265-1969 or visit www.friendsofamicalola falls.org. Amicalola Falls State Park is between Dahlonega and Ellijay on Ga. 52.
