Hall school officials highlight mental health programs for preventing shootings

In the wake of the deadliest school shooting in Georgia’s history last week, the Hall County School District has highlighted its array of “hard” security protocols — resource officers, panic alert systems, active shooter drills and so on — but it has also placed a strong emphasis on “softer” measures, particularly the role of mental health in both explaining and, more importantly, preventing school shootings.
