Plane passenger makes ‘hard landing’ at Gainesville airport after pilot suffers medical emergency

A single-engine airplane made a “hard landing” at Gainesville’s Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport Friday evening after the pilot experienced a “medical emergency” and the passenger landed the plane, according to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration.
