Cargill gave $7,500 to Fair Street International Academy to benefit two programs of the Gainesville elementary school.

One of the programs is “Tigers to Tybee Island,” where students go on an environmental education 3-day, 2-night field trip to Burton 4-H Center in Tybee Island. They get to study beach ecology, crabs and critters, invertebrates, surf sleuth, pollution solution and beach waves, as well as touring Fort Pulaski.

Cub Club and Team Tiger, the other program benefiting from the money from Cargill, is Fair Street’s quarterly student recognition of students making academic and behavioral progress. Quarterly honors are noted by ribbons, while recognition in three of four quarters earns students a field trip to Skate Country, a pizza party and a T-shirt.
