Gainesville schools are changing their attendance policy, but Hall County Schools isn’t.
Hall and Gainesville schools have similar philosophies on student attendance, but opposite reactions to new attendance guidelines from the state Department of Education. The Gainesville school district plans to change its policy to fit the College and Career Readiness Performance Index guidelines, but Hall school officials say their policy is fine the way it is. “We won’t change attendance to meet CCRPI,” Hall Superintendent Will Schofield said.
