Tents as far as the eye can see: Massive Gainesville homeless camp serves as stark symbol of city’s rise in homelessness

The Flat Creek homeless camp in Gainesville has been around for several years, periodically clearing out and cropping back up again. But in the past month or so, something striking has happened: Its population has swelled to unprecedented levels, with tents stretching as far as the eye can see and likely more than 100 residents.
