Update: Hall County government votes to opt out of state law that could limit property taxes

Several local governments have announced their intention to opt out of a statewide bill that would cap homestead property tax increases at the annual inflation rate, and public hearings have been scheduled to allow citizens to weigh in. Hall County Schools will have its first hearing tonight, Jan. 27.
