Parents, kids get ready for school with event at J.A. Walters YMCA

A line of children and their families stretched down the parking lot Saturday a half hour before a school supplies and bike helmet giveaway began at the J.A. Walters YMCA. Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County and Amerigroup organized the event, offering the items to school-aged children on a first-come, first-served basis. Tables of vendors inside the Y offered other supplies and services. Snow cones and a bounce house outside kept kids busy.
