A golf tournament benefiting a Chestnut Mountain man paralyzed after falling from a ladder in May 2008 has been rescheduled to Nov. 2 at Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club in South Hall.

The Kenny Pope Life Celebration Open had been scheduled for Monday, with Nov. 2 as the rain date.

The entry fee is $100 per golfer. The fee for hole sponsors is $100.

The goal is to raise at least $3,500 for a standing frame to help Pope stand. Since his accident, he has been confined to a wheelchair.

Pope’s ordeal began on a windy Mother’s Day 2008, when he went to fix a satellite dish on top of his house. He climbed up a ladder, reached the roof, then fell on his way back down.

The new rain date is Nov. 3.
