DOUGLASVILLE — A woman who married a 15-year-old boy and later bore his child will be released from prison Friday after serving two years for helping her teenage husband flee from Georgia authorities, state officials said.

Lisa Lynette Clark pleaded guilty in Douglas County to aiding her teenage husband's flight out of state in February 2006. The teen, who had been on probation for a burglary, was caught within two weeks by authorities in Ohio and returned to Georgia.

Georgia Department of Corrections spokesman Paul Czachowski on Thursday confirmed Clark's prison release date but declined for security reasons to provide details. The prison system's Web site says Clark has served her term at Metro State Prison in Atlanta.

In 2006 Clark spent nine months in jail after pleading guilty in Hall County to statutory rape, stemming from her relationship with the teen she married.

Clark was 36 when she married one of her teenage sons' 15-year-old friends in November 2005. The couple was married by a retired county probate judge who performed the ceremony in the driveway of his home. Hall County authorities arrested Clark the next day on charges of sexually molesting a minor.

Georgia's state law sets the marrying age at 16, but had allowed an exception for younger people to marry if the bride was pregnant. The law was changed in 2006, and now 16- and 17-year-olds can wed only with the approval of a parent or guardian and a probate judge.

Clark gave birth while behind bars and agreed to leave the child with foster parents in Douglas County.

Gov. Sonny Perdue signed legislation in April 2006 closing a loophole in state law that allowed couples of any age to get married without parental consent in the case of a pregnancy.
