A panel discussion on the HPV vaccine and its ability to help prevent certain types of cancers in preteens and teens will be the focus of the August WomenSource Power Lunch on Thursday.

The event is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the Brenau Downtown Center.

Panelists include Dr. Andrew Green, a gynecological oncologist who specializes in cancer of the cervix, uterus and ovary; Dr. Cindy Fulenwider Greene, a board-certified dentist at BGW Dental Group who has advanced training related to detection and treatment of oral cancer; and Dr. Katie Herzog, a pediatrician with The Longstreet Clinic.

WomenSource holds the monthly Power Lunches to help women learn about various issues and trends.

The United Way of Hall County, the North Georgia Community Foundation and the Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County joined together in 2007 to launch WomenSource. The organization’s mission is to provide educational programming to empower women, according to a news release.
