Gwinnett County has by far the largest school system in the state of Georgia, so education-related issues there sometimes have an outsized impact on other school systems in the state over time. Which is why the current debate over whether to make school board elections in Gwinnett nonpartisan should be of interest outside the boundaries of our neighbor to the south.
