Habersham Central earns first win, 21-6 over Johns Creek

Habersham Central broke through for its first victory of the season Friday night, beating Johns Creek 21-6 at Raider Stadium in Mount Airy.

Raiders junior running back Michael Babers had 33 carries for 184 yards and 3 total touchdowns. Babers had touchdown runs of 16 and 52 yards and caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Cole Wilbanks.

The Raiders' defense held Johns Creek to 132 yards of total offense.

Habersham Central senior linebacker Cody Patterson had 11 tackles and an interception, and senior defensive end Jeremiah Nicely had seven tackles and a sack.

Habersham Central (1-7, 1-6 Region 6-AAAAAA) visits North Forsyth 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
