Tech freshman picks up ACC honor

Georgia Tech’s Mfon Udofia was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Udofia averaged 18.5 points and shot .591 percent from the floor last week. The freshman scored a game-high 26 points, hitting 9-of-16 shots from the floor, and pulled down seven rebounds in a 74-61 win over Siena on Wednesday.

Udofia also scored 11 points with four assists in Georgia Tech’s 79-53 win over Southern California on Saturday.
