Gainesville football receives state championship rings

Members of the Gainesville High Class AAAAA state championship team received their rings during a ceremony at the school on Thursday afternoon. The Red Elephants finished the season with a 12-3 record and topped Ware County 49-13 for the championship on Dec. 14 at the Georgia Dome. It was the first football state title in school history.
