Prep roundup: Lady Lions fall to St. Francis in 2OT

Lakeview Academy’s Chelsea Waddell scored in the second half, but it wasn’t enough for the Lady Lions (0-1) in a 3-2 double overtime loss to Saint Francis on Wednesday in Gainesville.

Jillie Pascual scored on a penalty kick for the Lady Lions’ other goal.

Lakeview Academy goalie Ivy Godfrey had nine saves.

Lakeview Academy visits Winder-Barrow at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tennis
Johnson boys 5, East Hall 0
Brandon Sloan, Stephen Hester and Billy Hulsey all won in singles for the Knights (1-0) on Tuesday. In doubles, William Anthony/Scott Allan and Jody Tanner/Cresio Almeida won for Johnson.

Johnson plays host to North Forsyth today for its home opener.

Golf
White County girls 96, Gainesville 103
White County’s Sarah Holmes carded a 47 and Rosie Cochran shot a 49 to pace the defending Region 7-AAA champions to a win on Monday at Mossy Creek in Cleveland.

Kat Whitaker shot a 53 and Taylor Dorsey carded a 54 for the Lady Warriors.

Camryn Cole led the Lady Red Elephants with a 42 and Ashley Kitchel carded a 61.
White County plays host to North Hall at Mossy Creek on Monday.
