The West Hall Lady Spartans were eliminated from the Class AAA state volleyball tournament with a 3-0 loss Tuesday at Ringgold.

The Lady Spartans, who finished second in Region 8-AAA, lost 25-19, 25-17 and 25-15.

“We stayed with them early, and we were able to stop their quick hits,” West Hall coach Joe Nelson said. “That was the best serving team we’ve played and they found every hole.”

The Lady Spartans (27-17) finished the season with their most wins since 2006 when the program won 33 matches.

“I’m real happy with how we did,” Nelson said. “The girls were real disappointed, but I’m proud of them.

“We knew it was going to be a stretch for us to win.”

Ringgold (28-7) won the Region 7-AAA championship this season and has won 21 consecutive games dating back to Aug. 26.

With the loss, West Hall’s season is now complete.
